Mars orbiter sees bedrock on the floor of an ancient crater

A newly posted image from NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter shows rippling sand dunes and exposed bedrock on the floor of an eroded crater. Similar craters are visible nearby in a strip of imagery posted on NASA’s planetary Photojournal on 30 April. Objects as small as small as 154 centimetres across (60.6 inches) are visible in the original.
